About this limited edition photograph:

The blended photograph “Galactic Portal” was created at a secret location in Colorado.

Galactic Portal is comprised of (4) 30-second exposures (f/2.2 aperture and ISO-640) which were focus stacked for the foreground, and (1) 10-second exposure (f/2.2 aperture and ISO-4000) for the sky/stars.

I created this blended photograph by setting up my Sony A7iii camera with a Sony 20mm f/1.8 G lens on my Feisol CT-3472 LV tripod featuring a Really Right Stuff BH-40 ballhead. I used a VidPro 144 Varicolor LED Panel to illuminate the foreground. To get all of the railroad ties in focus, I utilized the focus stacking method by taking four photographs at varying focus depths. In Photoshop I was able to blend the four photographs along with one photograph of the sky to create Galactic Portal.
