About this limited edition photograph:
The composite light painted photograph “Hiking Among Fireflies” was created in Palisades Park in Decorah, Iowa.
To create this composite light painted photograph I placed my Canon 80d camera with a Tokina AT-X 116 PRO DX II lens on my tripod. I created a 15 second exposure while I walked down the trail towards the camera with my headlamp on. This both illuminated the trail beneath my feet and left behind a bouncing light tracer from the headlamp’s trail. I then set my camera to take a timelapse. I took (85) 15 second exposures of the lightning bugs flashing. On the computer, I blended all 86 exposures together, and the resulting image is Hiking Among Fireflies.
